A New Year’s Resolution: Better Information on the Youth That You Serve
As we start the new year many of us have resolutions on things we want to do better or different from the year before. Healthclubs usually see a spike in memberships this time of year. The beverage industry similarly see a drop in revenue that usually last until about the week before SuperBowl Sunday. It is a new year and new opportunities. We have hopes and wishes for the new year.
Here is a hope I have for 2015:
To help your agency get better information on the youth served so that you and your staff can provide better services to the youth and their family, find better ways of measuring and reporting results, and making employees lives easier.
How many of you have encountered the following in the past year?
- Having to enter the same data into multiple systems.
- Having a hard time accessing information when you need it.
- Have a hard time sharing with, or getting information from other agencies in your community.
- Finding your current information so difficult to use that you dread doing data entry.
- Finding it difficult to get the information you need out of your system.
- Having a hard time finding the resource to make any changes to this situation.
If you answered yes to any, some, or all of these questions you are not alone. Every week we speak to communities around the country who struggle with these issues. One of my new years resolutions is to spend more time talking to people like yourself to help you find better ways of managing your data. Whether it is attending one of our webinars or make an investment in our RiteTrack Juvenile Justice system, I want to hear from you this year. I want you to share your biggest information challenge with us. We love these challenges because this is what we do for a living: Helping people have better access to information so that you and your staff can spend more time serving the youth in your community and less time doing paperwork and searching for information.
