In January of 2021 after contracting with Handel during the pandemic, the Oneida Nation implemented and went live on a new, custom-configured RiteTrack Indian Child Welfare data management system. This module manages nearly all aspects of child placement services for in-home and out-of-home care, as well as reporting needs including the BIA Quarterly and Annual Report, timeline tracking reports, and more.
The Oneida Nation’s ICW Department’s mission is to strengthen the Oneida Tribe by preserving stability and reuniting Oneida families through the use of cultural and traditional values. Indian Child Welfare (ICW) has been established to prevent the breakup of Oneida families and prevent the removal of Oneida children from their homes. The department is responsible for child abuse and neglect case work, in cooperation with the respective county/state/private agencies. Working under the Federal guideline of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) of 1978, ICW will work to ensure that out-of-home placement of Oneida children will be according to the placement preferences as stated in the ICWA. ICW will work to ensure that out of home placement of Oneida children will be according to the placement preferences as stated in the ICWA. ICW also works with juvenile diversion and truancy.
Handel is thrilled to partner with the Nation to help support their ICW department with improved data management and reporting capabilities.
